Please become a Friend of the Dales!

This is a great way directly help our charity's work to protect and enhance of the Dales - an internationally important and nationally protected area.  Our charity receives no government funding and we rely almost entirely on voluntary contributions from people, communities and businesses - as subscriptions, donations, gift aid and legacies.

This voluntary income is essential to fund our campaigning costs, our modest office space and two part time members of staff – as well as the costs of the Review and events – all of which are produced or led by volunteers.

We have around 1,200 members across Britain and overseas, which adds enormously to our voice when we stand up on your behalf “for the Dales”. Please do become a Friend of the Dales today!

We like to thank our Friends - new members receive ...

Bill Bryson, a supporter, says :

"There isn't a more glorious and beguiling landscape anywhere, or one more deserving of our support. It really is as simple as that"

Alastair Humphreys

Our Patron

says :

"it's more beautiful than you realise; the people are open and friendly and have time for you; your phone might not work which is a positive as you'll have more time - slow down and enjoy the silence".

Alastair’s quest for adventure began young. Aged 8, he completed the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge over 26 miles
